Pilates in Carmel, IN
Two ways in. One roof on the Monon.
There are two ways to do Pilates at Ozwell in Carmel — on a spring-loaded reformer in the MVMT House studio, or on a mat in the heat of the hot room. One builds long, controlled strength on the machine in small, capped classes; the other takes the classical mat method into a heated studio. Both live under one roof, just off the Monon Trail.
Reformer Pilates by MVMT House
Reformer Pilates uses a spring-loaded carriage to build deep core strength, stability, and full-body control — low-impact on the joints, seriously effective on the muscles. At Ozwell it's run in partnership with MVMT House: small, capped classes with real instructors who actually coach the room, correct form, and scale movements to your level. Three classes cover every level:
- Baseline Reformer — form, control, and intentional movement. Approachable and balanced — the best place to start if you're new to the reformer.
- Power Reformer — for seasoned reformer clients. Combos, props, intricate movement patterns, and a good tremble.
- Cardio Reformer — a jumpboard reformer class. Low impact, high energy, with a cardio push that gets the heart rate up.
Monthly reformer packages start from $119/mo, and no gym membership is required — classes are open to everyone, with a discounted rate for Ozwell members.
Hot Mat Pilates in the hot room
The second way in is the hot room — Ozwell's dedicated heated studio. Hot Mat Pilates Classical runs the classical Pilates mat sequence in a 95–105°F room, focused on core strength, alignment, and breath control, honoring the original Joseph Pilates method. Hot Mat Pilates Sculpt fuses those classical principles with strength and cardio movements — the heat intensifies the workout, boosts circulation, and deepens core engagement. Both are 50-minute classes, part of a hot-room lineup that also includes Circuit Burn, Sculpt 45, Heated Flow, and Slow Flow — unlimited on one membership.
Reformer or mat — which should I choose?
If you're brand new, either door works. Baseline Reformer is built to be approachable for first-timers, and Hot Mat Pilates Classical follows the original method with a coach in the room. Lean toward the reformer if you want spring resistance, a small capped class with instructor eyes on your form, and a track that runs from foundation to advanced. Lean toward the hot mat if you want the heat, no equipment learning curve, and Pilates woven into your regular class week on one membership. Plenty of people do both — reformer for strength and control, hot mat for sweat and breath.
